In recognition of Jodi White’s distinguished career in journalism, public service and volunteer leadership, this scholarship has been created to support students in the Faculty of Public Affairs.

Jodi White, is former chief of staff to the prime minister, and played senior roles in six successive federal election campaigns.  She is past president of the Public Policy Forum and a resident scholar at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, D.C.  Her career spans the nexus of journalism, government, the private sector and the not-for-profit sector.  She is committed to the importance of dialogue and collaboration between sectors for improved public policy.  White has worked as a CBC TV news reporter and radio producer, and served as vice-president at a major Canadian multinational.  She has served on numerous boards, including Tides Canada, Action Canada, the National Theatre School, the Canadian International Council and the Canadian Journalism Foundation.

A Bachelor of Journalism graduate in 1970, she returned to her alma mater as a distinguished senior fellow at Carleton University.
