As the clock struck 12:01 AM on November 29, it was all hands on deck as donors from across the Carleton community showed up early and enthusiastically to support the Carleton University Varsity Swim Team. In just 24 hours, generous gifts on Giving Tuesday, combined with matching funds from Carleton University, allowed the team to more than double their initial goal of $15,000 for a total of $33,990!

As the perfect way to pause and say ‘thank you’ to their enthusiastic donors and biggest fans, the team gathered this week to stop time for a brief moment with their take on the popular #MannequinChallenge meme.

Thanks to donor support, the funds raised will give each student athlete an opportunity to strive for excellence, both in and out the pool.

As athletes, this much-needed funding will allow our Ravens to travel to and participate in swim meets, competitions, and training camps at the provincial and national level. Without the burden of financial strain, each gift also helps every student develop the confidence and discipline necessary to succeed in the classroom, in their chosen fields, and beyond.
