We cannot thank the Carleton community enough for investing in the Carleton-led initiatives that shape a brighter future for us all. It is through your enduring support that students and researchers have the resources needed to address the world’s most pressing challenges. Thank you to everyone who joined us on Giving Tuesday to celebrate the power of philanthropy for the 11th year in a row!
Below are some highlights from Giving Tuesday 2023:
- Through the generosity of our donor community, a total of $1,110,430 was raised in 24 hours. With matching funds, this provides over $2.2M in support for students and researchers leading social change in our communities;
- A total of 1,745 donations were made between midnight on November 28 and 11:59 PM (EST);
- There were 76 champion-led campaigns and over 1,000 giving funds live on FutureFunder representing philanthropic initiatives across campus;
- Over $60,000 was raised within the first 5 minutes of the day;
- The first gift was made right at 12:00:00 in support of the Autonomous Spacecraft Robots project in the Faculty of Engineering and Design;
- The momentum continued throughout the day, with the last donation made at 11:59 PM in support of the Women’s Water Polo Excellence Fund.

- The perfect excuse to stay up to the wee hours indulging in some binge-worthy Netflix (or set an alarm for us early risers)! Get your fingers ready to be the first one at midnight or the first one at noon to process your donation! The first donation received after midnight and after noon (12 pm) will get an additional $ 2000 in funding for the campaign/fund that received the donation! *A minimum donation of $10.00 is required to be eligible.

SHOW YOUR FACULTY PRIDE: MAKE THE FIRST GIFT TO A FACULTY AT THE RESERVED TIMES BELOW
- This challenge is an opportunity to show your pride for a Faculty on campus that is meaningful to you! Make the first gift to an initiative within that respective faculty at the time listed below, and you can win an additional $1500 to the campaign/fund that received the donation. Below are the funds that received an additional $1500 in funding. All donors have been contacted.

SPREAD THE RAVENS SPIRIT: DONATIONS TO CARLETON ATHLETICS
- Carleton Athletics brings our community together by spreading pride and inspiration from campus out into our city. Show your support to Carleton’s student-athletes by making the first gift to any initiative within Carleton Athletics at 2:00 PM and you could win an additional $1500 towards the campaign/fund that received the donation. *A minimum donation of $10.00 is required to be eligible.

INSPIRE OTHERS TO DO GOOD: INSTAGRAM SOCIAL CHALLENGE
- Supporting important causes through FutureFunder reinforces our social commitment to create positive change in our communities. Tell us about a cause that is important to you, and post it on your Instagram with the hashtag #CUProud between November 22-November 28. You will be entered to win one of 8 prizes of $500 towards the FutureFunder initiative of your choice. Winners will be announced throughout the day on Giving Tuesday so keep an eye out on your Instagram accounts!

GO GLOBAL: GIFT FROM THE FURTHEST DISTANCE TO CARLETON UNIVERSITY WINS $2500
- It’s time to round up your colleagues, friends, and family around the world! The project or giving fund with the donation coming from the furthest distance to Carleton University will win additional funding for the FutureFunder campaign/giving fund that they donated to.
- The furthest donation was made from Yanchep, Australia in support of Buckets to Rain Barrels!
RALLY TOGETHER, RAVENS: DONATIONS FROM CARLETON ALUMNI
- Now is the time to show your spirit as a proud Carleton Raven! All donations from Carleton alumni will be entered into a draw to win additional matching funds for the FutureFunder project that you supported! We will be giving away a first-place prize of $ 1000, second place of $500, and third place of $250.

- You can stay connected to Carleton University by supporting an initiative that was important to you as a student! All alumni donors who graduated within the last 5 years will be entered into a draw to win $1000 in additional matching funds for the FutureFunder project that you supported!
- The draw winner has been contacted and supported Carleton Therapy Dogs
