Awarded annually, by the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research, to a graduate student in a thesis stream from the Faculty of Public Affairs or the Sprott School of Business, entering or proceeding from one year to another, who has demonstrated interest in the area of ethics and integrity in governance in one of the following sectors: public, private or not for profit. Endowed in 2008 by Zuhair A. Hassan who served the Government of Canada for over 30 years in various capacities. During his years of service at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada in Ottawa, he made longstanding efforts to nurture and mentor staff. Throughout, he emphasized the importance of carrying out research projects as the first step in the formulation of top quality policy advice.
