Saeed Mehrabi was an international graduate student who came to Canada to pursue his Master’s and PhD in Computer Science at the University of Manitoba. After completing his PhD, Saeed worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Waterloo then subsequently joined the School of Computer Science at Carleton University as a postdoc in 2017. Saeed was extremely hardworking and was a prolific researcher. He also taught undergraduate courses at Manitoba, Waterloo and Carleton. He was loved as a teacher and cared greatly for the students he taught and mentored. As an international student, Saeed was always grateful for the support he received throughout his studies in the form of scholarships and fellowships.
Honouring Saeed’s passion for Algorithms and Computational Geometry, Carleton faculty and staff have decided to establish a scholarship in his memory to support international students pursuing an education in Computer Science at Carleton University. Preference will be given to students who show a research interest in Algorithms and Computational Geometry.
