The women’s rugby team at Carleton is now in its 11th year as a varsity program. This season, the team achieved a bronze medal for the second year in a row in the Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec (RSEQ), making program history. The team continues to work hard in a post-pandemic world, and because of their dedication, they continue to rise as the greatest team in USports Rugby.
As the Ravens head into their off-season training, they will continue to train multiple times a week in the gym and on the indoor pitch, as well as compete in 7s tournaments over the winter to improve their skills. With an overwhelming response to last year’s campaign, the team’s goal is to continue to push the mark and raise $25,000 in this year’s campaign to buy crash pads and to save for much-needed team room renovations.
Outside of rugby, the team strives to make a positive impact in the Ottawa community and beyond. The players use the team room to plan all of their philanthropic initiatives: from breast cancer awareness to holiday fundraisers and more, the team is constantly thinking of ways to give back to the community that has given them so much.
We’re looking for your contribution to support the future of varsity women’s rugby at Carleton University. On top of year-round rugby training, team members are full-time students and have part-time work and volunteer positions in the community. Our student-athletes are extremely dedicated and determined to improve individual and team skills throughout the off-season and leading into next year
With a growing network of young alumni, the team relies on the generous support of family, friends, and community donors. With your support, we can ensure that the team meets their objective of buying much-needed equipment and renovating the team room, allowing them to perform at their best while worrying a little less about finances.
