Awarded annually by the Dean of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs on the recommendation of the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering to an outstanding second-year graduate student in engineering enrolled in the Critical Infrastructure Protection and Security program, who demonstrates academic excellence and high potential. The award has been endowed by Jacques Shore in memory of his late father, Sigmond Shore, a former diplomat and engineer whose life was dedicated to securing democracy and freedom, to public service, to saving lives and to making life safe for all.
