Established in 2000 by an anonymous donor, these scholarships are awarded on the recommendation of a selection committee, composed of the Chair of the Department of History and two other faculty members, chosen by the chair, to outstanding graduate and/or undergraduate students studying in the field of Canadian social history, immigration, migration or local history, with preference to those with research interests in British and Irish immigration to Canada or the local history of eastern Ontario and western Quebec.
