In today’s world, the modern citizen is routinely confronted by a maze of numbers and data in various forms. Mathematics and Statistics are also at the heart of many of today’s advancements in science and technology and are contributing to progress in other fields such as industrial and architectural design, economics, biology, linguistics, and psychology. Since 1942, the students enrolled in the School of Mathematics and Statistics at Carleton have enjoyed the unique advantage of studying in the nation’s capital, providing easy access to internship opportunities in government departments and private industry.
