In looking back on his days as an undergraduate student at Carleton, when the campus had only four or five buildings, Ross recalls how awards from the history and law departments helped inspire him to complete and further his academic studies. Ross received his M.A. at the University of Toronto and Ph.D. at Queen’s University before returning to Carleton University as a faculty member in the School of Journalism and Communication. Ross hopes that the Ross A. Eaman scholarship for the Communication and Media Studies program will provide a similar boost to two students each year, whether for pursuing graduate studies or a career enabled by their studies at Carleton.
Two scholarships, awarded annually on the recommendation of the Director or Associate Director of the School of Journalism and Communication, to outstanding undergraduate students enrolled in 3rd or 4th year of the Communication and Media Studies program. Each scholarship will be valued at $1,000. Endowed in 2019 by Ross A. Eaman. Revised 2020, 2022.
