“This fund was established in 1980 by relatives, friends, and former colleagues of the late R.A. MacKay, a distinguished scholar in Canadian government, a senior member of the Department of External Affairs, professor of political science at Carleton University from 1961, and founding associate director of the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs, 1966-68. The award is intended to assist graduate students from outside Canada who are studying international affairs at Carleton University; they may be enrolled in the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs or come from a related discipline, such as political science, history, or economics, provided that the “”international”” component of their course of study is prominent.”
