Awarded annually by the Dean of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs, on the recommendation of the Director or Associate Director of the School of Journalism and Communication, to outstanding graduate students enrolled in a Master of Journalism degree undertaking a Thesis or Master’s Research Project on a subject related to human conflict, the media and conflict studies, or conflict resolution, reconciliation or reconstruction. The award is intended to underwrite research and/or travel costs associated with realizing the project. Application is required and must include a research proposal and detailed budget of proposed expenses. Endowed in 2016 by Richard Stursberg and Judith Lawrie.
