Awarded to worthy candidates who are members of Carleton University’s Varsity Men’s Basketball program and who are continuing from one year to the next. The recipients must have a minimum academic GPA of 7.0 and have participated in men’s varsity basketball their previous academic year. The recipients must also have shown commitment and dedication to the basketball program along with a strong work ethic and selfless attitude, both on the court and in the classroom. A committee determined by the Awards Office and the Department of Physical Recreation and Athletics will select the recipient of the award. This award was established in honour of Pat O’Brien, a former player, alumnus and coach. Pat was a member of the Raven’s basketball team from 1964-1966, head coach from 1976-1981 and a founding member of CURBAA. Endowed 2001.
