Each year, the Carleton Ravens Competitive Curling Club’s men’s and women’s teams compete in the OUA Championships with their sights set on qualifying for the U Sports National Championships. The program was founded in 2011 after an absence of 40 years and it has seen much success over recent years with a 2014 women’s OUA silver medal, a 2015 women’s Universiade Games silver medal, a 2019 men’s OUA and U Sports gold medal and a 2022 women’s OUA bronze medal. Both teams consist of respected student athletes who dedicate their time to excelling in performances both academically and in curling. Carleton University is proudly represented each time they step on the ice.
Our commitment to competing at the university level results in a high demand for financial resources. Although we are honoured to represent Carleton University, with our school being successful in larger varsity sports our team receives limited financial support. We are looking for donations to help us reach our goals and play the sport we love at the university level.
The funds raised will go towards both our men’s and women’s team expenses and subsidize the cost of bonspiel entry fees, curling club memberships, equipment costs, accommodations, food and gas.
Our program has a lasting impact on those involved in the club including athletes, coaches, and alumni. It is exciting and honourable to represent your sport at the university level. Everyone has the opportunity to join a supportive and passionate team, make new friends, improve their curling skills, and take home OUA and U Sports medals to remember university curling by.
