Carleton’s Biology Department has recently initiated an annual lecture series in honour of plant scientist, Dr. Margaret McCully, who was an extraordinary teacher and faculty member in our Department for close to 35 years. Margaret is internationally recognized for her pioneering work in microscopy and root biology.
The McCully Lecture theme, ‘From the Lab to the Field, represents a unique opportunity to connect students with leading edge researchers who are tackling real-world problems in sustainable agriculture and food security. Students are exposed to inspiring role models that bring material taught in the classroom to life.
By endowing this lecture series we ensure that future students will continue to have the same opportunity to learn from experienced researchers in this field. Alumni and friends of the University are invited to join us in making this annual event possible for years to come.
