Awarded annually when merited, to a full-time student proceeding from one year to another who is a member of the interuniversity men’s basketball team. Eligible students must be Canadian citizens, be listed on a CIS/OUA Eligibility Certificate as members of Carleton University’s interuniversity men’s basketball team and comply with CIS and OUA academic eligibility requirements. The selection will be made upon the recommendation of the Athletics Awards Committee on the basis of outstanding academic achievement and involvement in the men’s varsity basketball program. Endowed in 2016 by Susan Kilbank BComm/80 and BCS/97 in memory of her mother, Doris Kilbank, father Al Kilbank and grandfather Hector Inch. Doris Kilbank taught Spanish at Carleton, valued education and continuous learning. Al Kilbank was a senior economist in the federal government, served as president of the Professional Institute of Public Service and believed education was important. Hector Inch was an astute international business man who excelled in the field of apiary and was President of the Ontario Bee Keepers Association.
