Awarded annually when merited, by the Dean of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs, on the recommendation of the Chair and Associate Chair of the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, to one full-time graduate student who is entering or continuing in a PhD program in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. Recipients will demonstrate excellence in research and the potential to significantly impact their field. In exceptional circumstances, two awards valued at no less than $5,000 each may be given.
