Endowed in 1990, the Don Reid Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time student proceeding from one year to another in any undergraduate program who is a member of the Ravens men’s or women’s basketball team. Established by funds donated in honour of the late Don Reid–a 1978 Carleton graduate and member of the Ravens basketball team–his scholarship will be available in perpetuity, ensuring that future generations of students will have the support they need for years to come.

Thanks to the generosity of the community, this scholarship has provided support to over 40 students since its establishment. As a proud alumnus of Carleton University, this fund continues to honour Don Reid’s legacy and commitment to support students by reducing financial barriers they may encounter while pursuing undergraduate studies.

“Receiving the Don Reid Memorial Scholarship was a great honour and a huge help during my time at Carleton. Being a student athlete any financial support was very useful and allowed me to keep my mind on studying and basketball.”
