Awarded annually by the Dean of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs on the recommendation of the Director of the School of Canadian Studies to graduate students in demonstrated financial need who are entering or continuing in a graduate degree program within the School of Canadian Studies. Eligible recipients must be Canadian Citizens or permanent residents of Canada, and must meet OSAP’s Ontario Residency requirements. Endowed in 2000 by the Sutherland family in tribute to Colonel Sutherland and his passion for the pursuit of knowledge that he exemplified in all aspects of life. Revised 2023.
