The Carleton University Student Leadership Initiative (CUSLI), led by the Faculty of Public and Global Affairs (FPGA), has been established in response to the rising need for leaders equipped to tackle complex global challenges. From collaborating on immersive group tasks to engaging in conversations with influential community leaders, CUSLI inspires our future generation of changemakers.

Up to 25 undergraduate students immerse themselves in civil discourse and dialogue through engaging leadership training and hands-on learning opportunities during seven Saturday program sessions per semester. Nominated by the Deans of each faculty, selected students from across campus apply based on their already-demonstrated leadership experience, or clear potential to elevate skills in this area.

With a core vision to advance personal and professional growth, participants are encouraged to foster viewpoint diversity, harness difference, participate in respectful debate and lead with tolerance.

Funds raised support the effective delivery of the Carleton University Student Leadership Initiative (CUSLI), including but are not limited to those related to supporting student needs, speakers, seminars, immersive student learning experiences, and events.
