The Carleton Concrete Canoe Team is a team of interdisciplinary students whose goal is to design and complete a canoe composed primarily of concrete through a series of in-water races. For over 24 years, Canadian universities have been building concrete canoes for a national race held by the Canadian Society of Civil Engineers (CSCE). Each design is evaluated on academic, technical, and sports aspects.
The competition provides engineering students with the opportunity to apply theories and concepts learned in class. For many future engineers, this is a first hands-on experience that contributes greatly to their education. Our team is divided into two main subgroups; Design and Build. Each subgroup is composed of dedicated students that are ready to take on the challenge of designing and building our First Canoe.
As a team, we aim to apply the technical knowledge learned from our courses to put our best foot forward as we enter our first year of this competition. Sponsoring the Carleton Concrete Canoe team means a new generation of Engineering students are able to express their creativity and learn to apply valuable skills for their future careers.
With your contribution, your organization receives exposure at our team meetings, events, and at the annual Concrete Canoe Competition. This allows students to become more familiar with your business and products.
