Value $1,000. Awarded annually to an outstanding student entering or proceeding from one year to another in the Bachelor of Journalism Program at Carleton University. Established in 2016 by family friends and colleagues in memory of Bill Rodgers.

Born William Kittelberg and raised in Rodney, Ont., Bill devoted much of his long career to covering federal politics. Bill’s time in Ottawa included positions as parliamentary bureau chief with CFTO-CTV and the Ottawa Sun. Later in his career, Bill worked in communications. He advised Joe Clark as a consultant and prior to his retirement in 2012, he served as director of communications for then-cabinet minister Jim Prentice.
