Overview
Did you know that Carleton University Art Gallery (CUAG) provides opportunities for students from Art History and related fields to gain hands-on experience as Tour Guides? These paid internships are a meaningful way for students to engage in professional development in the arts by applying academic learning with tangible results through their direct involvement in CUAG’s exhibitions and public programmes.
At CUAG, we value the perspectives of the students with whom we work, and we are committed to serving as a foundation in their academic and professional growth through experiential learning. On Giving Tuesday, we encourage you to give to help grow CUAG’s ability to provide more of these internship opportunities to students by making a gift in support of this campaign.
The Background
CUAG endeavours to increase the meaningful internship opportunities we can provide to students. We aim to provide experiences and professional development that support students in their learning and in their future career path in the arts.
The Rollout
We will use funds raised to bolster the number of internships for students at CUAG by making more Tour Guide positions available.
The Impact
We witness students’ professional growth and see the impact of providing paid internships first-hand as part of the CUAG team and students’ engagement with our visitors and the broader campus community. This is reflected through the projects they contribute to and the professional relationships and friendships they build while at CUAG.
