The MBA class from the Sprott School of Business is sending 25 students and 5 members from the Sprott MBA Games 2019 Organizing Committee to the 2019 MBA Games in Toronto on January 4th-6th, 2019. Over 25 Canadian universities participate in this annual MBA case competition that takes place in a different city each year, with the upcoming event being hosted by the Ted Rogers School of Management at Ryerson University. We have competed in the MBA Games for the last 6 years, and are extremely excited to be heading back this season. Based on our achievements last year, we have the confidence to send a larger delegation to represent both Sprott School of Business and Carleton University. At this moment, we are looking for more sponsors to support our growing team to help cover training expenses and event costs to ensure that everyone can participate regardless of financial barriers.
The MBA games are an excellent way for students in Sprott’s MBA program to gain experience in a team solving and presenting various business cases, while also providing a platform to network with other Canadian MBA students and business representatives. In collaboration with our key sponsors (RBC and Rockwell Collins), we have been able to successfully send 25 students to the games for the last 5 consecutive years.
Our continued participation in the MBA Games relies heavily on our generous sponsors and supporters, who help to alleviate the costs associated with the event. Although the majority of students contribute to the remaining costs needed, there are some key competitors who simply cannot afford to pay to compete. Any individuals who wish to be a part of the spirit and sports components at the event are required to pay a $ 450 registration fee. Additional expenses also include the Sprott MBA team outfits, creating the team video, accommodation & travel, and registration fees. We believe that all students regardless of their socioeconomic background should be given the opportunity to participate, and your donation will help to ensure that we make this possible.
Any little bit helps! Sprott’s presence at the MBA Games is reliant on your support, as we are hoping to send a larger delegation to represent Carleton University, and to increase our participation in the sports area as well. This will enhance the experience of many MBA students, who have been preparing for these academic games for the last year of their degree.
Your donation towards this valuable experiential learning activity will help us make the most out of our academic career, while providing a unique learning and networking opportunity for all who participate. With your help, Sprott will be able to successfully send their 25 academic competitors and other students to the games to continue to develop and build a more positive reputation for the MBA program at the Sprott School of Business, and for Carleton University as a whole.
