The rundown

Carleton helps student-athletes achieve their personal best. For some, that means competing at an extraordinarily high level, such as national and world championships, the Pan American Games, and even the Olympics. Many of these opportunities come with heavy costs—competition fees, travel, room and board, and earnings sacrificed during a heightened training regime. Carleton’s High Performance Athletes Fund helps our Ravens cover the costs of competing on the national and global stage.

Donors make the High Performance Athletes Fund possible, and gifts of any size are welcome. Carleton is providing $50,000 in matching money to encourage more donations.

Your gift will reward the commitment and effort of individual student-athletes, and will further position Carleton as a hub of athletic excellence and a university of choice for outstanding student-athletes who know they will get the support they need.

Says Natasha: “Words can’t describe the honour and joy that comes with representing your country…A lot of training went into reaching my goals, but it would not have been possible without the encouragement of family, friends and the support I received from Carleton University.”

Each year, the funding is available to student-athletes invited to international tournaments, events or other competitive opportunities by their national sport organization. Carleton’s director of recreation and athletics reviews applications in consultation with coaches.
