2017-18 marks the 30th Anniversary of the Carleton University Ravens Women’s Soccer program. The Ravens took the field for the first time in the fall of 1987 and have been a perennial OUA playoff contender ever since. In addition to many OUA final four appearances, the Ravens participated in two National Championships in 1995 and 2001.
Our women’s soccer alumni chapter goal is to create awareness for vital areas where alumni and fans can support the program whether it is through volunteering and/or philanthropy. In addition, the chapter strives to create a feeling of goodwill towards the soccer program and use key events as an opportunity to welcome back our alumni to campus every year.
Every year our alumni gather to participate in the annual Spring Carleton University Indoor Soccer Tournament. This year over 50 alumni came to campus to celebrate 30 years of soccer excellence at Carleton University. The alumni agreed that they want to give back to the program to ensure that current and future players enjoy the same lasting experience they enjoyed as a Raven.
To that end, our alumni and soccer supporters are encouraged to support the Women’s Soccer Excellence Fund initiative. Your gift will go directly to support the program and will be used for priorities identified such as hiring tutors competition and equipment enhancement, and additional money for per diems on road trips. As well, the program will put aside funds to support the Jayne Peak Award for Women’s Soccer, a scholarship awarded annually to an outstanding member of the women’s soccer program.
Your support will help our student-athletes be the best they can be on and off the field. . Enhanced academic support will enable the players to better balance the obligations of being a student-athlete. More funds for the Jayne Peak Award will help attract the best student athletes to the women’s soccer program.
