The Carleton Dominion-Chalmers Centre (CDCC) is a magnificent venue for arts and culture, located in the heart of Canada’s capital city. Its growing contributions and influence over the last two years is in thanks to our donors, community partners, Carleton University and enthusiastic audiences of all ages. This group continues to be there for each other and the Centre during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Despite the current COVID-19 restrictions impacting live programming at the CDCC, online arts and entertainment events have been providing joy and escape for those required to spent more time indoors. While in-person events will never be replaced, these virtual events are becoming a widely acknowledged form of artistic representation. Working with Carleton and community groups, CDCC is pleased to introduce live streaming capabilities, so our community may enjoy performances from the comfort of their homes.
Your support will go directly towards purchasing equipment required for live-streaming activities. This includes lighting, cameras, microphones, recording equipment and network infrastructure, which will help to showcase the artistic integrity and reputation of users of CDCC.
This new live streaming capability will provide the opportunity for our performers and audiences to connect with those in isolation in our local community and around the globe. It will also help ensure Carleton Music students are able to fulfill their live performance course requirements, and help community groups such as Chamberfest continue to showcase their talent until music festivals resume.
