Ravens Dance Pak is a student run competitive dance team here at Carleton. Our team allows us to continue our passion for dance and plays a huge role in our university experience. We train 3 days a week from September to March to prepare us for 2 competitions in the GTA area at the end of season. This year because of COVID-19 we are unsure what our competitions may look like. While we hope to be able to compete in-person, if unable to we will hire a videographer to film all of our dances and we will compete virtually. Rehearsals, Competitions, Fundraising, and bonding activities allow our group to grow life lasting relationships and memories. We are still dancing while social distancing through COVID-19, taking many precautions to ensure the safety of all our dancers. While this season looks different, we are all very grateful we get to continue doing the sport we love in this difficult time.
We need your help to continue this team for years to come! We do several fundraising activities throughout the year to build our team. We participate in many community outreach activities to show our support for the Ottawa dance community and everyone involved. This team loves to dance and we do our best to show this throughout the year!
The funds will go towards helping us pay for studio space, drives to and from competitions, accommodation at competitions, costumes, etc. Any extra money is always passed on to the next year so that the team can continue to thrive in the future. If competitions are virtual this year, we will still have to pay competition fees and a videographer to film our dances for submission so your support will allow the team to thrive regardless of the current circumstances.
This campaign will really help our team to grow and succeed. It will ensure our team can run smoothly now and years to come, and it will help us do more activities within the community. Overall, this campaign will help us continue our passion for dance throughout our university careers. Though we can’t go to campus for learning this year, dance gives us joy and an outlet in a time full of un-certainty. This means a lot to our dancers, helping them achieve all they desire.
