Founded in 2016 as a student club, the Ravens Men’s Rugby Team has experienced tremendous growth. Following two successful seasons as a student club, the Ravens Men’s Rugby Team was recognized by the Carleton University Athletics department as a competitive club in 2018. In 2022, the club has declared intention to participate in the RSEQ’s Men’s Rugby division.
Under student management and the leadership of head coach LeeAnn Napiorkowski, the team has grown in both membership and in competitiveness. Since becoming a competitive club in 2018, the team has posted a strong winning record and has claimed the title of Scholars League Champions in 2018 and 2019.
We’re looking for donations to help grow the Men’s Rugby Program at Carleton University.
Our team consists of over 50 dedicated and hardworking Carleton University student-athletes who balance their sport with work, school and volunteering. As a club, we also help to facilitate Ottawa Mixed Ability Rugby, which looks to bring the world of rugby to everyone, specifically those with physical and mental disabilities.
As our team looks to slowly move past the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and compete at a higher level next year, we will need further support from our generous donors to continue the excellence of the Carleton Men’s Rugby Program.
Funds raised through this campaign will go directly towards subsidizing the growth of the Ravens Men’s Rugby Program over the next few years. It is important to us that rugby be inclusive to all those who wish to play, regardless of the financial barriers.
Most specifically, this fund will go towards minimizing the cost of play for the students that make up our club as well as subsidize the cost of new equipment, field rentals, and travel expenses.
Through your donation, you are helping to make sports more accessible for all. By supporting the Ravens Men’s Rugby Program, you are not only supporting the rugby community as a whole but you’re also supporting the dedicated young men who make up our team.
