As a proud alumnus of Carleton, Jay Nordenstrom was passionate about contributing his time towards volunteering within the Carleton and broader community. His dedication to volunteering was contagious, as he encouraged fellow students to give back as Carleton ambassadors by volunteering with powerful initiatives in our community. This fund will help support students who wish to volunteer their time towards a cause that is meaningful to them, by providing financial assistance to deserving student volunteers.
This fund will support students who wish to make a difference in their community, but are otherwise unable to as volunteer hours would cause a reduced income. Volunteer work helps foster meaningful opportunities to connect and make a positive impact in our community, which prepares students to be well-rounded citizens. This fund will allow our next generation of leaders to worry more about their cause and academics, rather than their rent.
By supporting the Jay Nordenstrom Volunteer Fund, you are providing the opportunity for students to dedicate more time to volunteering on or off-campus. Many students are eager to volunteer, but are unable to commit due to a loss of income that may be incurred. This fund will help offset this reduced income, by providing financial support towards personal expenses such as rent, local travel and groceries.
