The Ravens Strength and Conditioning program strives to provide an environment of athletic development centred around education and empowerment of our athletes. Tasked with the athletic development of all of Carleton’s varsity teams, the Ravens’ strength and conditioning program takes a holistic approach to athlete development, working hard to create a daily training environment where each of our athletes can develop the athletic tools required for them to stay healthy, and improve performance within the context of their sport.
The strength and conditioning program at Carleton has seen continued growth since it’s inception in 2013. A continued commitment to provide the best daily training environment to our athletes, has led to improvements in training equipment, testing and athlete monitoring tools, and most importantly the addition of new staff.
A key tenant in the continued growth of our program is our commitment to consistent evaluation of ourselves and our athletes. Consistent measurement and evaluation allow us to measure our impact on the athlete population and make informed decisions on how we can impact performance and reduce the occurrence of injuries.
The Ravens Strength and Conditioning program is asking for help to continue to build a true high-performance training environment for our student athletes. Specifically, they are looking to invest in force plate software that will allow them to easily integrate and quickly analyze a multitude of tests and monitoring tools into our athletes daily training environment.
An investment in this technology will have a positive impact on our strength and conditioning program. Our athletes will benefit from cutting edge technology leading to improvements in performance, injury reduction and support in the return to play process. Similarly, the software will improve workflow for our coaching staff, and allow them to focus more on other areas of development within our Strength and conditioning program.
