In celebration of 20 years since its founding, the Carleton University Debate and Speech Society is seeking to expand our influence for years to come. We host weekly meetings on campus, which help students network with each other, practice their public speaking skills, and prepare for upcoming tournaments.
CUDS is a student-run organization dedicated to fostering public speaking and analytical skills. CUDS has a strong history of competitive success. We routinely beat teams from schools like Oxford, Yale, and Harvard. We welcome everyone regardless of experience or academic background. To read more about CUDS’ recent accomplishments, click here!
Much of CUDS’ success over the last 20 years has come from us being one of the most financially accessible debate teams in the country. Your contributions will allow us to continue that tradition. Besides allowing us to send more members to both domestic and international tournaments, your donations will also be used towards organizing a public debate series in the Winter of 2019 which will raise awareness of the Society on campus and will help foster healthy discussion on issues students care about. Your contributions will also be used to create a more formal alum network which will help create stronger links between current Carleton students and former Carleton debaters. Help us continue to make Carleton proud!
The Carleton University Debate and Speech Society is an invaluable experience for Carleton University students as it improves public speaking abilities, fosters friendships, and expands knowledge. CUDS strongly believes in the importance of equality, and we believe that all students regardless of their socioeconomic background should be able to take part in showcasing Carleton to other universities around the world. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of students by allowing us to enhance our skills, while creating lasting memories.
