Overview
The Carleton Ravens Women’s Ultimate Frisbee team is dedicated to welcoming athletes of all levels to this incredible sport. We believe in the importance of providing means for all women and non-binary athletes to participate in sports. We provide both introductions to the sport and competitive development within it. Being a student-managed club, students have stepped into leadership roles and worked together to solve problems and create the best experience for athletes. The club is dedicated to welcoming all students who wish to form new connections and remain active, both of which are important to maintaining mental and physical health throughout the school year.
With your generosity, we can help ease the costs of participating as we continue to expand our club. Raised funds would contribute to travel costs of away games, as well as coaching and equipment. Your donation will aid in growing the club’s levels of participation for future years, and help to provide an affordable and welcoming environment that promotes both physical and mental health for students.
The Background
Women’s Ultimate Frisbee provides an athletic environment in which it is incredibly common to see women and non-binary competing for years to come. Not many sports offer high-level playing opportunities to the average woman upwards of twenty years old. Ultimate Frisbee grants these athletes an opportunity to continue competing and learning past their teen years. We believe in introducing and developing women and non-binary athletes within this sport – many starting in university – we help grant them the opportunity to continue competing at a high level as they age, maintaining physical fitness and a competitive mindset for years to come.
The Rollout
Funds will be used to pay for coaches expenses, cover tournament fees, purchase equipment, and overall reduce athletes season fees. Lower athlete fees allow for greater outreach, and lessen an obstacle they might otherwise face.
