The Ravens Swim team is training at full tilt under the guidance of Head Coach, Pierre Lafontaine. Lafontaine is now in his third year and received the OUA Swimming Coach of the Year award for both men and women. This is the first time that a Carleton coach has received either of these awards.
Competitive club teams look toward generous donors to help the team succeed. The team relies on a successful Future Funder campaign on Giving Tuesday (November 29, 2022) to reduce the financial burden on the athletes and allow the team to excel in the pool as well as in the classroom.
Funds raised will go towards coach’s salaries, dryland coaching, pool rental, team gear, travel to competitions, and potentially a training camp, depending on health and safety protocols.
Last year’s funds allowed the club to train hard and travel to the OUA Championships in Toronto, where the team rose up four spots in the rankings, from 10th to 6th. This improvement was an integral part of OUA Coaches selecting Lafontaine as Coach of the Year.
With your support, Carleton Ravens Swimming will continue to succeed far into the future. Our athletes will hone their work ethic and time-management responsibilities as they continue to pursue both academic and athletic success.
