The Carleton Dominion-Chalmers Centre (CDCC) is a magnificent venue for arts, culture, teaching and learning in Canada’s capital city. A place where scholars, artists and community members can work together to imagine and realize a brighter cultural future for our city and region. Its growing contributions and influence during the last three years are thanks to donors like you, community partners, and enthusiastic audiences of all ages.
The CDCC has accomplished great things with and for its community thanks to the generous support of its donors. Your impact extends far beyond a financial contribution. Gifts to the Priority Needs Fund will support the Centre’s immediate needs as well as help fulfill long-term plans.
Through your gift, you will not only support the CDCC and its students, but you will also bolster the city’s entire creative community and the impact it has on our region and nation.
As we look ahead, there are several CDCC priority areas through which you can invest in the future of arts in Ottawa.
CDCC is a hub for community engagement and collaboration. More than 50 community organizations and groups held events, performances, ongoing programs, and activities in the last year alone.
To strengthen and continue the quality experience that both the community groups and audiences expect of CDCC, we are pursuing an upgrade to the projection system in the Main Hall – Sanctuary.
Every event hosted in this space needs and deserves a reliable system that enhances their guests’ experience and showcases their event in the best way possible.
In early 2023, CDCC will be launching its first mini networking and collaboration wing in the building that will be home to four practice rooms. These meeting spaces will support the many partnerships, collaborations and creations that CDCC stands for.
As we begin planning the design for this new initiative, we are seeking support for outfitting the space with required equipment that will enable and encourage new ideas.
We hope you will consider making a donation to support collaboration at CDCC!
We thank our donors for being engaged members of the community through their support. You have played a pivotal role in CDCC’s evolution so far, making the following possible:
- Purchasing equipment and making infrastructure upgrades to support hybrid performances and learning capabilities to serve the needs of our community.
- Revitalizing spaces and outfitting them with modern equipment, while retaining the building’s historical and heritage characteristics. Projects such as the Healthy Flooring Project, provided an upgraded floor to support accessibility for youth theatre programs.
- Launching the Research Centre for Music, Sound and Society in Canada, which is dedicated to exploring the intersection of music and nationwide social transformation through community-engaged research and research action projects.
- Supporting student success by contributing to projects that enhance the learning experience and build community connections.
